What We Mean by Company Builder
We build our own companies
Vector North Capital is a company builder and operating holding company. It is not an investment firm, a venture capital firm, a private equity firm, or an asset manager. The word “Capital” in our name refers to the capital we put into our own businesses — not to capital we manage for anyone else.
Concretely: we do not manage outside capital. We do not raise or operate investment funds, and we have no limited partners. We do not solicit investors, and nothing on this site is an offer to sell or a solicitation to buy any security. We do not invest in, acquire, or take stakes in third-party companies.
What we do instead is start companies from nothing and run them. Each business in our portfolio was founded by us, funded out of our own pocket, and is wholly owned and operated by Vector North Capital today. We write the software, we talk to the customers, and we stay for the long term — there is no fund cycle and no exit clock forcing a decision.
